We have a very active youth program here at Woodland.  We meet every Sunday night during the school year for food, fun, and fellowship.  We visit, play games, worship, learn, and grow together.  The youth work to keep a focus on service during the year by sending cards, care packages, and pumpkins to shut-ins and college members.  October is an exciting month for us with our annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser.  Woodland has become known in Rock Hill as the “Pumpkin Church” through this program and it has served as a great outreach to the community, in addition to helping youth raise funds for missions.   We enjoy a number of retreats throughout the year that include places like Awanta Valley, Lake Junaluska, Revolution in Columbia, and sometimes Myrtle Beach.  In the summers, the youth have many opportunities to serve on mission trips.  Every year we send a group to Salkehatchie Summer Service somewhere in South Carolina.  Middle schoolers are invited to take part in Confirmation - a process by which they learn more about the church, the Christian story, their faith, and they become full members of the United Methodist Church - encouraged by their Grandfriends. We also offer separate middle and high school trips that have included places like Savannah, the Bahamas, Boston, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey.  Every year, youth have life changing experiences on these trips as they learn more about how to love and serve God through the service of others.  Our Youth are taught what it means to make a personal commitment to the church, and most importantly, to God!
